PURE511 ALERT! Is Your Lipstick Toxic?

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics group purchased more than half of all major brand lipsticks (33 in total) and 61% of these contained detectable amounts of lead. This is a very dangerous statistic, especially considering that lipstick has been shown to be a highly ingestible matter.  Brands to seriously avoid:

L’Oreal’s Colour Riche ‘True Red’  and ‘Classic Wine’
Cover Girl’s Incredifull Lipcolour ‘Maximum Red’
Dior Addict’s ‘Positive Red’

PURE511 ALERT! Beads in Toothpaste

Some Crest toothpastes; such as 3D Whitening, Crest Pro-Health and a number of others contain the ingredient polyethylene, a form of plastic.

The plastic does not breakdown and can stay embedded in your mouth.

At Aesthetic Smiles in Meridian, Dr. Wade Pilling and his staff are aware of the ingredient and have since been looking a little deeper in the mouths of their patients.

"Your body will see them as a foreign body, bacteria will clamp to them and it has the potential to cause gum disease, some form of gingivitis or harm to it," said Dr. Pilling.

Months ago, a dental hygienist in Dallas blogged with other dentists about finding tiny blue pieces of plastic embedded in her patient's gums.

Trish Walraven told CNN that at first she didn't know what it was, but then realized what was happening and started telling others in the dental community about it.

Dr. Pilling first heard about Walraven's concern from a social media site for dentists called Dental Town, so he also started looking into it.

"We did some of our own little experiments by dissolving the toothpaste and seeing what was left over, and pretty much these plastic beads were left over," said Dr. Pilling.

He said there's no reason to panic because the plastic is not causing infection or inflammation.

"But it's certainly, logically has the potential, if they bunch up in between the gums, to bring in bacteria," explained Dr. Pilling.

The makers of Crest - Procter & Gamble - said the ingredient is completely safe, and it is approved by the FDA.

The American Dental Association has issued a statement on the plastic microbeads saying the polyethylene microbeads are an FDA-approved food additive, and the council will continue to monitor and evaluate new scientific information that comes from this issue.

However, Procter & Gamble acknowledges that the product is causing some concern among its customers and released a statement via email to KTVB.

"We understand there is a growing preference for us to remove this ingredient. So we will."

However, until the products are removed from shelves completely, by March of 2016, Dr. Pilling believes education is best.

"We just know you should know what you're putting in your body, so look at what you are doing, look at what you are buying," said Dr. Pilling.

Not all Crest products have the ingredient - Crest Whitening + Scope, Crest Baking Soda Peroxide, Crest Tartar + Whitening - all do not have the product in them.

PURE511 ALERT! Tattoos

Whether you are considering getting your first tattoo or your 10th tattoo BEWARE!  When you sit in the chair ask your artist what he is going to use during the process and I promise you he will say Vaseline, A+D Ointment or H2Ocean.  With that being said, not only will you be getting ink; but you will also receive:  petroleum and mineral oil a carcinogenic which may cause cancer, petrolatum which is linked to cancer, lanolin which is an allergen for some people that can have severe results and fragrance which is linked to potential immune and nervous system toxicity.

Ask for an alternative, natural product IMMEDIATELY!!!  If they don't have an alternative, find another artist or shop that does.  There is no reason in 2014 shops are still using GASOLINE (petroleum) and not tattooing with natural products, providing you natural wash to cleanse your tattoo or natural cream for healing.  There are companies that have these products; but some artists and shops opt for the cheaper way out at your expense.

1) 99% of the 14,228 skin care and cosmetic products on the market have never been evaluated for safety by the FDA (US Food & Drug Administration), CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review) or any other publicly accountable institution.

2) 74% of all personal care products on the market according to chemical industry databases contain:

  • Carcinogens (cancer causing chemicals),
  • Teratogens (causing birth defects),
  • Reproductive toxins (male & female infertility),
  • Developmental toxins (hazardous to unborn children)
  • Skin/sense organ toxicants (causing skin disease and rashes)
  • Allergenic toxicants (causing allergies)
  • Mutagens (causing cells to mutate)

3)
57% of all skin care products contain "penetration enhancer" chemicals like Propylene Glycol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate that drive down deep through five layers of skin and illegally hijack your bloodstream.

PURE511 ALERT! Illegal Hijacking Of Your Bloodstream

The reason "penetration enhancer" chemicals are "illegal" is because this violates the FDA's own regulations regarding the use of cosmetic chemicals that affect the structure or function of the human body. Below is a direct quote from the FDA.

"Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act defines drugs as those products that cure, treat, mitigate or prevent disease or that affect the structure or function of the human body. While drugs are subject to an intensive review and approval process by FDA, cosmetics are not approved by FDA prior to sale. If a product has drug properties, it must be approved as a drug, only approved drugs are allowed to enter your bloodstream."

PURE511 ALERT! The Truth About Aging Hair!

First and most importantly – all hair is dead! It doesn’t “breathe” it doesn’t metabolize so it doesn’t need nutrients or vitamins or anything else. Only the root is alive. “Anti-aging” treatment...s for hair are purely cosmetic. That means they just affect the appearance of the surface of the hair. They can improve its appearance and texture, make it shinier, softer, smoother, temporarily thicken it, and strengthen it to some degree. They can even change its color (after it’s grown out.) But that’s about it.

Skin is living and can be treated to reduce some of the signs and symptoms of aging. The ingredients that can impact the “age” of skin don’t do anything for hair because it has a different structure and different needs. If you had to chose whether to put a chemically-based product on your living hair root or an all-natural hair product, which would you choose to ensure your are keeping your living roots healthy?
